Nenagh Triathlon Club

Christmas Party: Is only a few days away. You better get your tuxedo or LBD soon! Guest speaker on the night will be the ‘Fastest Fat Man in Ireland’ - Keith Butler. Keith will be re-telling the inspiring story of how he went from being dangerously overweight to just being a fair bit overweight through his intensive triathlon training program. This is not to be missed. The Christmas Party takes place on Saturday, December 15th in the Hibernian Inn at 8pm.

Running: Killian Cullagh was in running action at the Under-17 All-Ireland finals on Sunday. Killian did well coming home in 17th place.

Cycling: The Thursday turbo sessions are back in our usual sideroom in the complex. The improvements to the room have been completed. They have installed wide screen TVs, industrial fans, radio with speaker system, jacuzzi, water fountain, towelers, masseurs, vending machines etc. Check it out this week.

The main triathlon cycle was well attended on Saturday with eleven riders out on the road. The route took them through Birdhill, Daly’s Cross, Killaloe and back to Nenagh. On Sunday a large group from our club met up with the Wheelers for their Get Together cycle. This was a good way for our club to get to know the local cycling club better. Hopefully it will encourage our members to attend the North Tipp Wheelers weekly cycles on Sundays at 9.30am from Moynan’s shop.

The bike racing lads were all out again this week. The courses of choice were the Visit Nenagh A3 race route on Saturday and the lake on Sunday. The weather was good on both days and the lads put in a good effort as they start to pick things up a small bit. Membership forms are well overdue at this stage. Have them back to Shane before Wednesday or you can call down and give it to Rene any day after that. We need gear and sizes ASAP too.

Swimming: Remember the pool is closing at the end of this week so it is important not to miss any club sessions if possible.

One-On-One Coaching: The coach is unavailable this week so you will all have to wait until after Christmas to book again.

Underwater Camera: The club has purchased an underwater camera and it is has been delivered. We advise everyone in the club to get their stroke videod sometime over the next two months. Seeing how bad/good your stroke is on video will really help you to focus on improving your technique.
