Nenagh Éire Óg Gaelic Games Youth Academy

We were delighted to have held our very first event as part of the Nenagh Eire Og Gaelic Games Youth Academy proudly sponsored by Albany Home Decor & A Sportsmans Dream.

On Tuesday night last we ran a coaching workshop for all coaches and potential coaches within the club. The workshop was held at our new hurling wall & astro facility and was led by former national Director of Hurling, Paudie Butler.

This was a very well attended event and a resounding success by all accounts. Thanks must go to Niall Cahill who coordinated the workshop, to John Tooher who opened and moderated the evening and to Paudie Butler for making the trip to Nenagh and for sharing his insights, knowledge and experience with the group in attendance. Thanks also to our Under 15 hurling group who worked with Paudie on the night to demonstrate various skills & finally, thanks to Pat McCormack & all the teachers from the local schools who were in attendance & participated.

More events being scheduled by the Éire Óg Academy, watch this space for details. All new members to the club are welcome, training times below, contact the club social media sites with any questions.

Easter camps.

Plans are underway to run Easter Camps, we will be releasing details in the coming weeks on this so watch this space.

Under 7

Our U7 boys continue their 8 week block of fundamental movement games on the new Astroturf pitch. We would love to see new faces, so any boys born in the years 2015/2016 please come along Saturday mornings at 9am to the Nenagh Eire Òg GAA Complex. No helmet or hurls are required and it's a great way for the boys to burn off some of that Saturday morning energy!

For further information please contact Alan on 087-7518789. Free tea/coffee/treats for parents during the training session.

Under 9

Training continues on Saturday mornings at 10am for any boys born in 2013 and 2014. New boys are always welcome to join. Contact Cathal on 086 080 6460 or the club social media sites with any queries. Free tea/coffee/treats for parents during the training session.

Under 13

The boys opened their 2022 football campaign on Saturday afternoon v Ballina in Ballina. Both teams played really well in what were truly difficult conditions. The A group came away with a draw and the C group had a comprehensive win. All in all a positive start to the competition by the Nenagh boys. Training for this group continues Tuesday evenings at 5.30pm and Saturday afternoons at 3pm.

Under 15

Training for this group continues on Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m and on Thursday evenings at 6pm.

Under 17

On Sunday last, this group had a very enjoyable challenge v Dúrlas Óg. Conditions were quite difficult and the visitors edged it in the second half. The game was a great workout for both sides and we look forward to seeing more dividends from time spent on the new hurling wall translate through to our games.
