Nenagh Arts Centre Announces It’s Spring 2014 Programme

Nenagh Arts Centre has announced it’s new programme of events for Spring 2014.

The Centre is back in January with the start of its new film programme which features an ongoing season of classic films such as ‘Battleship Potemkin’ as well as films of more recent interest like the Wikileaks story ‘We Steal Secrets’ and the French film ‘Renoir’.

Shows by up and coming bands Animal Beats, Spook of the Thirteenth Lock and Moscow Metro are part of a focus on new Irish music and each of these groups will perform alongside local acts including Futurism and Burn This Promise. The Centre also presents the talented Eleanor McEvoy performing in early March. In theatre, the new Nenagh Players show ‘The Outgoing Tide’ goes onstage in late February and the lauded ‘Tom Crean – Antarctic Explorer’ performed by Aidan Dooley comes to the Centre on February 16th .

Nenagh Arts Centre is holding a portrait painting day in early February, to give established and budding artists the change to get some time working on their portrait skills.

Manager Brendan Maher says: “We had a great year in 2013 and we are looking to develop certain areas of the programme, especially in music and theatre, so if there are any local acts or performers interested in doing projects with us, we’d be delighted to meet with them. We’ve also got a full programme of classes and groups meeting in the Centre, so there is always the opportunity to develop new skills. All the information is in our new programme.”

The Brochure for Spring is now online at www.nenagharts.com and tickets for all events can be booked through the site or by calling the Centre on 067 34400
