Penny Wentworth (TMI Entertainment) will launch his debut single “Remembering JFK” at Martin Spider O’Brien’s in New Ross, Wexford this coming Saturday 22nd of June 2013 as part of the JFK 50th Anniversary Celebrations.
Penny Wentworth, of whom are a four piece band from Nenagh, County Tipperary are said to be looking forward to the launch. Lead singer/songwriter Tom White said “The song was written unplanned in every way. The music and theme, two sperate situations, the riff from a three stringed guitar an the name was something that popped into my head one day, with curiosity and wonder I combined the two and developed from there”. “Destiny for song is Remembering JFK”.
Penny Wentworth are a four piece band from Nenagh County Tipperary. The band was founded by Tom Bán (guitar/vocals). The name "Penny Wentworth" was taken from the phrase "every penny that went towards it was worth it". Tom had been writing songs and poetry for many years but always wanted to put a band in place. After a few line up changes in September of 2012 Tom and Patrick O' Meara (drummer/vocalist) teamed up with sisters Michelle Hennessy (bass/vocals) and Yvonne Richardson (keyboard/vocals). With the songs already in place the band took to the rehearsal room and quickly evolved in to a very promising and exciting new act. Penny Wentworth’s sound is filed with melodies and crosses over many music styles which is very noticeable in the band’s debut EP title “Six Tales” recorded in April 2012.
To date the band have supported acts such as Gemma Hayes, High Kings and up and coming Belfest band RunawayGo, and with gigs in Whelan’s The Mercantile, INCE Killarney along with ,any other venues around the country.
