This Saturday, Ballina and Killaloe will host a Love Weekend that will include a 'tug of love' across the beautiful bridge linking the towns. Instead of a tug of war, you’ll get the chance to pit yourself against your partner in a tug of love across the bridge.
The first eight couples there on the day will get the chance to be involved in the tug of love, the winners will become love champions and feature on RTE’s Local Heroes programme in June. The twin towns are holding Love Weekends on the third weekend of every month and the first one is this Saturday and Sunday. These weekends are designed to attract couples. Whether it’s love-heart shaped cookies with your morning coffee, a perfect afternoon tea for the two of you, a candlelight dinner, never leaving your hotel, or for the adventurous a kayak up the Shannon, fall in love again (or fall the first time) by visiting Killaloe / Ballina.
Re-kindle the romance and continue your love story by coming to Killaloe for one of our special “Love Weekends”. The tug of love starts at 4pm this Saturday, but if you interested in participating, be at the bridge for 3.30pm for a briefing.
