International Day of Peace Tipperary Town September 2022 |
International Day of Peace is designated by the UN General Assembly since 1981 and is observed around the world annually on September 21st. This year, in Co. Tipperary, there was a Ceremony of Reflection in Tipperary Town’s St. Mary’s Church. The theme for 2022 was “End Racism, Build Peace”.
Tipperary PPN coordinator, Ruth Smith, attended along with Kuldeep Joshi, a new secretariat member for social inclusion groups in the Tipperary, Cahir & Cashel municipal district (MD) and founder member of the PPN community group, Federation of Indian Communities in Ireland (FICI).
Kuldeep was invited to say a reflection at the International Day of Peace event. He chose Gandhi’s Prayer for Peace which is below: I offer you peace I offer you love I offer you friendship I see your beauty I hear your need I feel your feelings My wisdom flows from the highest source I salute that source in you Let us work together For unity and peace. |
