International Day of Peace Tipperary Town September 2022

International Day of Peace is designated by the UN General Assembly since 1981 and is observed around the world annually on September 21st.

This year, in Co. Tipperary, there was a Ceremony of Reflection in Tipperary Town’s St. Mary’s Church. The theme for 2022 was “End Racism, Build Peace”.

Tipperary PPN coordinator, Ruth Smith, attended along with Kuldeep Joshi, a new secretariat member for social inclusion groups in the Tipperary, Cahir & Cashel municipal district (MD) and founder member of the PPN community group, Federation of Indian Communities in Ireland (FICI).

Kuldeep was invited to say  a reflection at the International Day of Peace event. He chose Gandhi’s Prayer for Peace which is below:

I offer you peace

I offer you love

I offer you friendship

I see your beauty

I hear your need

I feel your feelings

My wisdom flows from the highest source

I salute that source in you

Let us work together

For unity and peace.
