Come along to Hospice Night 2014 at Reidys, Newtown on next Saturday night July 12th and help raise much needed funds for our local Nenagh Branch of the North Tipperary Hospice.

A feature auction item this year will be a stunning, current collection ‘Opera Coat’, very kindly provided by Tipperary woman and international designer, Louise Kennedy.  (See photo).  Louise is internationally recognised as one of Ireland's most successful fashion designers. Since establishing her label in 1983, Louise has earned an international reputation for creating clothes that are appreciated for their sophistication and quality of design. Louise has been the recipient of many prestigious awards including Irish Designer of the Year on four separate occasions. In 2003 she was awarded the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year award, and in early 2009 Louise became the first female style envoy for Mercedes Benz.  In April 2014, Louise was one of the chosen Irish designers to dress Mrs. Sabina Higgins, wife of President Higgins for their historic first official state visit to the United Kingdom.  The ‘ Opera Coat ‘, very kindly donated by Louise Kennedy for auction at Hospice Night 2014  is timeless in its colour and design and is a unique piece that will beautifully grace any woman’s wardrobe. A reserve price will be placed on the coat on the night.

A “Dream Patio “has been uniquely developed for auction with tremendously generous support from local shops and suppliers. The main patio itself is provided by McCon Concrete. We are hugely grateful to Karl Mc Nulty of McCon, who has donated the main part of the package. The patio area will be 20 metres square of imprinted concrete which will provide a 5 metre (16 feet) by 4 metre (13 feet) patio. The wall will be 5 metres long of imprinted wallcrete and 500mm high (20 inches) with 5 metres with centre hollow on top for a flower bed. The patio will be supplied and fitted by McCon Concrete.

Digging out and preparation is provided by Hogan Landscaping. Patio furniture is kindly sponsored by Lelia and Ned Kelly, Puckane while the Barbeque Unit is provided by Mc Loughlin’s Hardware, Nenagh.  Garden items will also be provided.  A flier detailing the value of each item sponsored will be available on the night.

Hospice Night 2014 promises to be a huge success. To date over 400,000 Euro has been raised from this fantastic annual event.  All of this money has stayed in the local area to provide both home and hospice care for people of Nenagh and surrounding areas who are terminally ill with cancer and other illnesses.

Many valuable items will be auctioned this year including the Patio-Make-over, Louise Kennedy Designer Coat, weekends away and lots more.  With the usual fantastic support from the farming community, lambs, hay, silage, turf and timber will also be auctioned on the night.  The Hospice Market will once again provide many items and vouchers for sale - all donated by local businesses.

A new element of the night will be a ‘Buy My Dress Rail‘ where new and nearly new designer and  high street dresses will be sold at knock down prices ! Come early if you want to get the best bargains! Doors open at 8.30 p.m. sharp!

As always, great food will be provided by Bobby Reidy and his staff with much of the produce locally sourced and sponsored.

Get your dancing shoes on as Nenagh Mint Jazz will be providing the late night musical entertainment this year. You won’t want to get off the dance floor when Hughie Mc Grath and the lads are on stage. Local entertainers, Brendan & Teresa O Connor - the well known “Who’s the Boss“ musical duo who regularly perform all  over Ireland as well as in the Canary Islands will provide the early entertainment on the night. This year we are in for a treat as couples from the local ‘Strictly Come Dancing‘events held during the year take to the floor. Champion Dancers from the Flynn O’ Kane Academy of Irish Dance will also perform for your pleasure on the night.
The Sheep Shed in Reidy’s is the place to be on Saturday Night, July 12th - and all at a cost of only 15 Euro per ticket.
