Currently, there are 20 confirmed cases in County Tipperary. Therefore, a coronavirus testing centre has opened in the North Tipperary area. It is based at the HSE’s Derg Centre, in Gortlandroe, Nenagh. There are more than 40 dedicated coronavirus testing centres nationwide.

According to the HSE, the coronavirus tests must only be carried out through your GP referral and appointment. The public must not arrive at the centre in person as they will not be seen.

If you have a fever (high temperature, 38 degrees Celsius or above), chills and one of the following symptoms such as:

1) Cough (any kind of cough, not just dry)

2) Shortness of breath

3) Breathing difficulties

You will need to self-isolate while you wait for your test. The people in your household will need to restrict their movements. For more information, visit https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/coronavirus/coronavirus.html
