Consultation on Nenagh’s Historical and Cultural Quarter

Help create an Historic & Cultural Quarter in Nenagh that everyone will love!

Tipperary County Council, in partnership with Fáilte Ireland, the OPW and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, is evaluating the opportunity to redevelop Nenagh’s Historic and Cultural Quarter. The project is critical to the comprehensive physical, economic and social transformation of Nenagh’s town centre.  This project is funded through the RRDF.

It is envisaged that the redeveloped quarter will be attractive to both locals and visitors, offer new opportunities to local businesses, and improve the experience of living in and around the town. The project is being led by a multi-disciplinary team of experienced architects, planners, business consultants, researchers and exhibition designers.

This survey is an important early phase of the work and we would very much appreciate your willingness to participate.

It will only take a few moments to respond and this will help us shape the redevelopment of Nenagh's Cultural and Historical Quarter.

The survey can be accessed on the Council’s website via this LINK

The Historic & Cultural Quarter includes many of the historic buildings in Nenagh such as Nenagh Castle & the Castle grounds & garden, the Governor’s House & Gatelodge, the Gaol, the former Rialto Cinema, buildings owned by OPW at 35 & 36 Pearse St. and the whole public realm area linking these including Banba Square.

Please take the time to give your views  – also where possible ask any friends, family members or groups who might be interested to participate.

The survey is being co-ordinated by CHL on behalf of the Design Team engaged by Tipperary County Council and submissions will be anonymized.

Thank you for your assistance.
