A special screening of the “Men At Lunch/Lon Sa Speir”

Documentary will be shown in Nenagh Arts Centre on Thursday 4th April at 8pm and we have a great early bird offer if you book by this Friday 29th March…Full Price: €15, Early Bird Price: €10!! A story lost in time? It’s heroes unknown, it’s story untold? Until now. Lon Sa Speir is the remarkable story of the most iconic image of the 20th century ‘Lunch atop a Skyscraper’ taken on the 69th floor of the Rockafeller Building.  Shot by Charles Ebbetts in 1932, the photograph features a number of Irishmen who worked on the building. Programme starts with Tony O’Donaghue’s Sundance award-winning short film ‘Irish Folk Furniture’. Table Quiz in Aid of Trip to Tanzania

​The table quiz will take place in Rocky’s Pub Nenagh. In aid of Kathryn Archard’s trip to Tanzania. Friday April 5th. Spot prizes on the night. €20 per table

 

XL challenge

XL challenge 2013 Saturday April 6th.,  2013. HIKE A: Bus from Silvermines Village to Ballyhourigan Woods,  then climb Keeper Hill, the highest point in North Tipperary. Descend Keeper to the remote valley of Glenculloo then up across the Silvermines Mountains before descending to the finish at Silvermines Village. 5 to 6 hours duration. HIKE B: This will start and finish in Silvermines Village. It will include a hike through the old mining area before we climb to the highest point on the Silvermines Mountains. There are fine views over the surrounding countryside. 3 to 4 hours duration.
