Job Description:
St Cronan’s Association CLG provides high quality, day service support to more than 130 people and their families living with intellectual disability and/or autism through our four services in North Tipperary and South Offaly. We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join St Cronan’s Association, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary as a Support Worker. The Support Worker will provide person-centered support a group of people with intellectual disability in the day service setting in Nenagh on a full time (37 hours per week) basis. The support worker will also work with families and other staff to enable people to engage positively in their person-centered programmes of day activity and support. Essential criteria The successful candidate will have: Minimum QQI Level 7/8 or higher Healthcare, Allied Healthcare or Social Care Degree Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and autism ideally in a day service setting Experience of report writing, developing and facilitating person centred plans A full Clean Drivers’ Licence (essential) and aged 23 years + (to meet our car insurance criteria) Understanding of New Directions Person specification We’re looking for someone who: Has genuine respect and empathy for a person’s individuality Treats people with dignity and respect Has patience and is solution focused Demonstrates a flexible, responsible and mature approach to work Is professional and accountable with good planning and time management skills Has excellent communication skills - written, spoken and listening – and can relate to staff, people using the service and families at all levels Is honest and reliable Can solve problems, make informed decisions and plan their work The role will be offered as a permanent role. Salary will be dependent on experience and the hourly rate will be aligned to the HSE Instructor Pay Scale
