Thurles Sarsfields International Hurling Festival 2013

Thurles Sarsfields will hold their third annual International hurling festival featuring hurling, camogie, road bowling and camán abú this week. The festival starts on Wednesday evening, July 10th, when the first rounds of Camán Abú take place.

Friday July 12th is a big day with “Target Ball” for special needs starting at 11am. The second Annual Interprovincial Road Bowling Championship takes place at 4pm, venue – Cormackstown Road. Thurles Sarsfields U12 Ladies Footballers take on Templemore in the outside field at 6pm. The finals of the Camán Abú take place at 7pm at the same venue. There is a welcoming social at 9.30pm in the Sarsfields Centre, with music by “The Monks” a group specially chosen for the occasion. All the events are free.

On Saturday July 13 in Dr Morris Park and in the outside pitch the the International Hurling Tournament for the Tom Semple Cup goes on all day. The Camogie takes place in St Patrick’s College grounds for the Helen O’Mara Cup again taking place throughout the day. After the finals we will have a celebration social for all in the Sarsfields club house. The music is by “Silver Dollar” and again all entertainment is free. Thurles Sarsfields extends a warm welcome to all and hope it will be a great weekend of sport, music and a wonderful Gathering.
