A new piece of theatre ‘The Bold Brigid Cleary’ written and performed by Eve O’Mahony (Clonmel) on the tragic account of the death of Bridget Cleary by her husband in 1895.
This one woman show describes the life and events which led to the death of Brigid Cleary, the woman accused of being a changeling and burned to death by her husband in Tipperary in 1895.
This moving play brings forth a whole slew of issues-issues of inequality, tradition and superstition, progression and ignorance, group mentality and individual steadfastness, independence and interdependence.
