Sports First Aid Course in Nenagh College

​North Tipperary Sports Partnership are organising a Sports First Aid training course on Saturday, February 22nd from 9.00am to 5.00pm in Nenagh College.

This course aims to enable:

  • The recognition, assessment, and immediate on-site management of sports injuries.
  • Facilitate rehabilitation and minimise further risk of harm to the athlete.
  • Acquire basic life support skills.
  • Provide assistance to casualties until more qualified medical aid arrives.

This course is designed for coaches, instructors, teachers, supervisors, sports assistants and volunteers and teaches the medical assessment and management of a wide variety of sports injuries.

Course Contents: Approach to an Accident, Cardiac First Response, Wounds and Bleeding, Fractures & Broken Bones, Spinal Injuries and Medical Emergencies.

The cost of the course is €70 per person,numbers are limited to a maximum of 12 participants and places will be allocated on a first to register basis, so early booking is advised.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants are presented with a Sports First Aid Certificate and a Heartsaver AED card from the Irish Heart Foundation/ CFR community from PHECC, which is valid for two years.
