Shannon Suir Cycle 2014

Shannon Suir Cycle, is a charity fundraising cycle organised by the North Tipperary Hospice movement. It is the first year of the cycle, of which will be an annual event. The cycle will start and end in Dromineer, Nenagh Co. Tipperary and takes place on September 13th 2014. The route will go throughout much of the North Tipperary catchment area starting at the River Shannon, pit stopping at the River Suir banks and back to Dromineer for the after party.

Ápes Cycle Festival : The Cycling event will finish in Dromineer with another exciting event of food and music festival by the banks of Lough Derg. Local businesses will showcase their culinary skills with various stalls and different foods to cater for all tastes. There will be music and entertainment for all the family which will go on late into Saturday evening.

All levels of cyclist are catered for. However, a sensible level of fitness and preparation is required to enable you to enjoy the day. The more preparation you do, the more you will enjoy it. During the event there is as much emphasis put on the social side as the cycling as well as raising awareness about the North Tipp Hospice movement. It is not all about hard work! The advanced route is broken up into manageable 30km (approx) stages with water and facilities provided at each pitstop. At each pit stop we will regroup and anyone who wishes to join the cycle at that stage for the shorter routes can sign up there. The day will finish off in Dromineer, where there will be an Ápres Cycle Food festival and entertainment, with food stalls, music and entertainment by the river Shannon. It also falls on the last day of the annual Lough Derg Regatta Gala, so there will be entertainment on the water too!

Each participant is required to pay a non refundable deposit of €25 when registering. For the 10k Family cycle it is €10 (individual) or €30 (Familyupto 4). Those who commit to raising a further minimum sponsorship of €100 will receive a Tee Shirt and Cycle pack.
