Relay for Life Survivors Reception

Relay for Life Tipperary takes place in Toomevara GAA Club from 5pm on August 15 to 5pm on August 16. As well as raising vital funds to support the Irish Cancer Society’s work, Relay is held to increase cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and unite a community in the fight against cancer.

One of the most important groups at Relay for Life events is the survivors. The survivors are the VIPs. The event opens with a survivors lap, during the lap, all cancer survivors at the event take the first lap around the track, celebrating their victory over cancer while cheered on by the other participants who line the track. The survivors are given a meal in the clubhouse and get some treats throughout the day.

Noelle Clancy – Chairperson Survivors has organised a Relay for Life Survivors Reception Afternoon Dance in the Scout’s Hall, Nenagh from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday 26th July. There will be light refreshments served.

The event will be informal information afternoon and get together before the main event in August.

Noelle is urging is urging all survivors to come along on Sunday 26 July, to enjoy the afternoon and hear about Relay for Life Tipperary.
