Staking his name, his savings and what little is left of his reputation, washed-up actor Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton) is acting in and producing his debut Broadway show. Well past middle-age and disregarded by all as the ‘Birdman’ of a forgotten comic-book superhero movie, Riggan has to come to terms with family, colleagues and his own destructive ego to achieve his goal.
Iñárritu’s movie swept the boards at this year’s Oscars receiving the coveted Best Film gong.
