MUNSTER SENIOR CLUB HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Walsh Park was the setting for this year's rematch between Thurles Sarsfields and Ballygunner in the quarter-final of the AIB Munster Senior Club Championship with commiserations going to Thurles Sarsfields who failed to progress to the semi-final following a two point loss to the Waterford champions 1-21 to 1-19 AET. In what was an epic encounter there was twists and turns aplenty but unfortunately the balance went against Sarsfields as they bow out of the championship.

MUNSTER SENIOR CLUB FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

It is commiserations also for Clonmel Commercials who didn't make it past the quarter-final stage either in the AIB Munster Senior Club Football Championship following their 0-14 to 0-8 defeat by Dr. Crokes (Kerry) in Clonmel Sportsfield last Sunday. After an excellent first half by the home side, Crokes upped the ante in the second half pegging back the Commercials determined challenge as the Kerry men ground out the win they needed to progress.

MUNSTER JUNIOR CLUB HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to Ballybacon-Grange who had an easy victory over Kenmare (Kerry) in the AIB Munster Junior Club Hurling Championship Quarter-Final in Ardfinnan on a score-line of 5-24 to 1-4. With their county final to come against Toomevara, Ballybacon would probably have wished for a stiffer challenge. In fairness to Kenmare, who were third choice in Kerry, they never stopped trying but the gulf in class was all too evident with the game over as a contest well before half time.

Ballybacon-Grange will play Brian Dillons or St. Catherine's (Cork) in the semi-final at a Tipp venue on week ending November 12th.

MUNSTER INTERMEDIATE CLUB FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Best wishes to Kiladangan who play St. Senans (Limerick) in the AIB Munster Intermediate Club Football Championship Quarter-Final on Sunday next, November 5th in Toomevara at 2pm.

MUNSTER JUNIOR CLUB FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Tipperary Water Seamus Ó Riain Cup Final replay between Roscrea and Toomevara is down for decision on Sunday next, November 5th in Moneygall, where the throw in will be at 2pm and extra time will be played if required.

COUNTY HURLING LEAGUE

Congratulations to Borris-Ileigh who lifted the Johnny Ryan Cup following their 3-19 to 0-13 win over Drom & Inch in the final of the Tipperary Water County Hurling League Division 1.

TIPPERARY PAST EDITIONS GAA YEARBOOKS ONLINE

Following last week's appeal by the digitisation team at Tipperary Studies in relation to a missing edition of an early Tipperary GAA Yearbook from the late 1960's to complete the online digitisation, there is positive news in that department and the digitisation team hope to have the copy on loan in the near future for digitising.

All yearbooks are free to browse on the Tipperary Studies website www.tipperarystudies.ie and search under the digital archive for the link to Tipperary GAA Yearbooks. It is a great resource to anyone researching players or teams. The resource is also of great benefit for clubs compiling histories or marking events in the past fifty years. The team at Tipperary Studies greatly appreciate the full support of Tipperary County Board, Nenagh Guardian and the GAA Yearbook committee, past and present for their continued support of this project.
