Seventeen 10 aim to raise funds for Haiti

On Saturday, November 17th Seventeen 10 will headline a gig at Philly Ryan’s bar on Silver Street which hopes to raise much-needed funds for the Haven Partnerships Haiti Build It Week in November.

Seveteen 10, with Collie Hogan as lead singer, featured regularly on the Irish music scene during the 1980s and 1990s.

Entry is free to this event, but patrons are encouraged to make any financial contribution.

On Friday, November 23rd Bob Hogan will join seventy-five other volunteers as they make their journey to Haiti before returning on December 2nd. The charity has brought over 1,200 volunteers to Haiti to help build homes.

A devastating earthquake hit Haiti on January 12th 2010. Over 120,000 were killed and 1.2 million made homeless. Over two years after the earthquake there are still nearly 600,000 people living in camps with limited basic facilities.

The gig begins at 9pm.
