Pancake Tuesday Recipe

INGREDIENTS

• Plain flour – 100g

• Eggs – 1 large

• Milk – 300ml

• Butter for frying

METHOD

Sift the flour into a mixing bowl. Make a well in the centre with your spoon. Break the egg into the well and pour in half of the milk. Using a fork or a whisk, gradually bring together the batter. Be sure to beat it well so there are no remaining lumps.

When you have a smooth batter, you can stir in the rest of the milk.

Heat a teaspoon of butter in a small frying pan over a medium heat. Pour about 3 to 4 tablespoons of the batter into the hot pan. Tilt the pan as your pour so that it is coated with the batter. Cook over the medium heat for 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden brown on the bottom side.

Flip over the pancake using a spatula and cook until the other side is golden brown. Once done, put it aside on a plate. Now cook the rest of the pancakes one at a time using this method.

Now comes the fun bit. For toppings, try a drizzle of honey, a teaspoon of brown sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice. Or you could try sliced banana and Nutella. You could even make your pancakes savoury by adding some ham and melted cheese.

Whatever topping you choose, we're sure it'll be worth it.
