Nenagh set to feature in new Eircom broadband rollout

Eircom have announced that Nenagh will be included in phase four of the rollout of its fibre broadband network.

Phase four of the plan includes fifty additional communities across Ireland.

Following the completion of phase four more than seven hundred thousand homes and businesses will be able to avail of fibre broadband services with speeds of up to seventy mega bytes per second.

Mr Herb Hribar (CEO eircom Group) explained: “our strategic investment in fibre broadband will deliver innovative products to our customers. The announcement of the fifty phase four locations, taken together with the previous announcements, underlines our commitment to provide innovative fibre broadband and TV services to customers across each county in Ireland. In addition to building greater capability we must focus on further cost reductions that help us become a modern, agile and customer-focussed organisation. The challenges are numerous, but the organisation is working hard to ensure that customers will have a much improved end to end experience”.

The phase four rollout will expand the network, passing an additional 350,000 homes and businesses, bringing Eircom’s fibre broadband service to all twenty-six counties. Work will commence in spring 2013 with the aim to complete the construction phase by the end of 2013 when more than 700,000 businesses and residential customers will be able to access fibre powered broadband from Eircom.
