Nenagh Éire Óg Weekly Notes

Senior: Liam Heffernan’s Blues will return to championship action in the last sixteen of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship during the coming weeks. The draw is expected to take place for the concluding stages of the county senior hurling championship this week. Please keep an eye on the club website and respective social media channels for updates. Éire Óg can be drawn against JK Bracken's, Roscrea, Mullinahone or Portroe in the next round.

Minor A: The Éire Óg minor A hurlers are in quarter-final action this week when the Blues take on Kilruane MacDonagh’s in Puckane at 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 26th. Éire Óg finished second in their group behind Newport Gaels while Kilruane finished third in their respective group. Newport Gaels and Kildangan have already progressed to the semi-finals while Toomevara and Portroe will contest the other quarter-final in this year’s competition. Nenagh Éire Óg manager John Manley is joined on the management team by selectors Derek Lillis, Christy McLoughlin and Paudie Gleeson. The lads would appreciate your support on Wednesday evening for this crucial clash.

Newsletter: The July edition of the Nenagh Éire Óg monthly newsletter is now available to download from the club website.

Recycling Drive: Nenagh Éire Óg juvenile club will host a clothing recycling drive to help raise much-needed funds. This is a great opportunity to support the work carried out by the juvenile club. Please donate all your new and used men’s, women’s and children’s clean and unwanted clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, ties, linens and household textiles et cetera. Mobile phones are also accepted and should be placed in a separate bag. The collection will take place on Saturday, August 29th (before 12 noon). Bags can be dropped off at the MacDonagh Park Complex on Thursday, August 27th and Friday, August 28th from (5pm to 7pm) or on Saturday morning, August 29th at 10am. For further details please contact Shane Connolly (087 637 3830) or Ger McCarthy (087 653 9229). Your support is appreciated.

Sympathy: The club would like to offer its sincere sympathy to the family of Margaret Cleary (Pearse Street, Nenagh) who passed away recently. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband JK and deeply regretted by her loving daughters Marian and Eileen and son Michael, son-in-law Taffe, daughter-in-law Cathriona, brothers Patrick and Don, sister Teresa, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Lotto: Last week’s lotto jackpot of €3,100 was not won. The €50 luck dip winners were: Joe O’Meara (Toomevara), Jean Aherne (Monaree), Matt Shoer (c/o Half Door), Jessica Reddan (c/o Una's) & Eva Maher (Kilkenny). Please support the Blues and play our club lotto.
