An Post Rás Stage 2 - Longford to Nenagh

Stage 2 of An Post Rás takes place on Monday May 20th over a distance of 160km from Longford to Nenagh.

The stage will start in Longford at 11.00am and will pass through Lanesborough, Roscommon, Ballygar, Mountbellew, Ahascragh, Ballinasloe, Laurencetown, Portumna, Ballinderry and Puckane before finishing in Nenagh.

Depending on wind conditions the cyclists are expected in Nenagh from around 2.20pm onwards.

Please note there will be road closures to facilitate the exciting climax to Stage 2 in Nenagh.

Roads to be closed:

R445/R497 from Market Cross to junction with MacDonagh Street/Summerhill.
R445 MacDonagh Street from junction with Martyr’s Road to junction with Pearse Street/Summerhill
R497 Summerhill – from junction with Pearse Street/Summerhill to junction with Church Road/St Flannan’s Street.

Period of Closure:

1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. Monday 20th May, 2013.
Pedestrian access only will be maintained.

Alternative Routes:
1) Traffic approaching town centre from Summerhill/Ormond Street should divert at Church road.
2) Traffic approaching Town Centre from Dublin Road should divert at Martyr's road.
3) Traffic approaching town centre from Thurles Road/Tyone should divert at Martyrs Road or Stafford Street
4) Traffic approaching Town Centre from Limerick Road should divert at Clare Street.
