Job Description:
The Inspector of Prisons is an independent, statutory position with responsibility for the inspection of Irish prisons and places of detention. The Inspector also conducts investigations into deaths in custody, and responds to issues that arise in the context of prisons and prison management.
The ideal candidate will have:
• significant relevant experience at a senior level in the public or private sector or the judiciary which would demonstrate the capacity to fulfil the duties of the role;
• the ability to provide leadership, excellent communications and interpersonal skills, the capacity to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and highly effective influencing skills;
