Nenagh Walking Club Comeragh Mountains Hike

Nenagh Walking Club will undertake a hike on Sunday 6th July to the Comeragh Mountains on the South Tipperary / Waterford border. There will be a choice of 2 walks, a B+/A Walk and a C/B Walk.

The B+/A walk will bring participants right up to the Knockanaffrin Ridge which is 755 mts high. This hike which shall be led by Tom Fallon will take approx 4 - 4.5 hours and will involve steep climbs and descents. Therefore, it is suitable for experienced hikers only and will commence from the Nire Valley car park at 11.30 am sharp.

The C/B walk is for moderate experienced walkers and will take in the Nire Valley to Sgilloge Lakes. This hike shall be led by John Hogan and will take approx 3 - 3.5 hours and will involve gradual height gain.

Due to the distance to the Comeragh’s the group shall be leaving Nenagh early at 9.30 am from Kenyon St car park. If there are enough Members interested in going on Sunday next a bus will be organised to the Comeragh’s. It is important you contact Maura Bowe on 086 8360621 to confirm your interest in order that the bus can be booked if there are sufficient numbers.
