National AGM for Macra

From May 6th, delegates from across Ireland will commence their arrival to North Tipperary. The staff of Macra na Feirme will descend to the Premier county also. Preparations for the days event will take place, by setting up the room, preparing the items for the delegate bags and preparations for the reports to be given on Saturday.

North Tipperary would like to thank the joint sponsors Arrabawn and ABP for their support, we are very glad to have some excellent local support for the National AGM. This is certainly an event that will display that North Tipperary is open for business.

The event of ‘Keep it Safe, Keep it Country’ will be taking place after the business of the AGM on Saturday. The meal will commence on Saturday night at 7.30pm. Tickets are €25 each (includes a three course meal, band Outa Diesel and DJ) and these can be bought from the Abbey Court Hotel reception or from any committee member. Please keep an eye on the North Tipp Macra facebook page also. Alternatively, folks can obtain tickets through Eventbrite. We are looking for support for this event.

The AGM will see the departure of Una Ryan (Toomevara) as National Secretary of Macra na Feirme. Una was elected as National Secretary in Loughrea last year, and has completed her term as National Secretary this year successfully. Una will continue to serve as National Council Representative for North Tipperary and hopes to be returned to the National Executive (these elections will be taking place on Saturday). The AGM will also see the departure of Macra na Feirme CEO Edmond Connolly, who is moving onto further pastures.

This AGM could not take place without the support of the North Tipperary Regional executive, the AGM subcommittee (who have put in considerable work into this event), to the five Macra na Feirme North Tipperary clubs, to the main sponsors Arrabawn, ABP, Central Auctions and the Nenagh Municipal District. A sincere thanks to all the local companies who have supported us through purchasing an advertisement in the booklet and to the companies who have supported with items for the delegate bags.

We are looking forward to welcoming delegates this weekend and we are looking forward to a successful night on Saturday night. We would be delighted with a good attendance on Saturday night.
