Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Awareness Night

Invitation to attend a Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Awareness Night

As we know Mental Health and Addiction (so called Dual Diagnosis) affects an entire community, we would like to invite you and your colleagues to attend a free Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Awareness Night in Nenagh Arts Centre on the 23rd of November from 8 to 10 pm (see Poster below).

The event is organised by a local community group in Nenagh called CARMHA, which stands for Connect And Recover from Mental Health & Addiction, and consists of people with personal experience of Dual Diagnosis, family members, professionals and other engaged community members.

Together we are trying to raise awareness around the challenges experienced by this large and growing population group, and indeed by services trying to support them. Carmha believes there are real solutions to these problems, as we have seen and experienced that Recovery is possible with the right supports. However, these supports are not readily available within our community, and “it’s going
to take a village” to change that. This is why we need your help and hope to see you in Nenagh Arts Centre on the 23rd of November.

Please get back to us by the 15th of November at the latest with the names and phone numbers of people from your organisation/work place who are able to attend this event, so we can organise free tickets (as these are limited).

On Behalf of Carmha Community Group,

Yours Sincerely,

Donal Ryan, Addiction Counsellor

Dr Marie Oppeboen, Psychiatrist
