Christmas Tree of Remembrance

The Nenagh Branch of North Tipperary Hospice Movement will say a special ‘thank you’ to the public for its generous support this year with a special gesture with its annual Christmas Tree of Remembrance.

An annual Christmas fixture in the town to remember departed loved ones and family, this year’s tree will be installed on December 6th but no donations will be required from the public. We decided this year that we would have this event without asking for any financial donations. The support we receive from the community is fantastic and the 2014 Christmas Tree of Remembrance is our way to say a huge thank you to all of the supporters and friends of North Tipperary Hospice. The tree will be placed on the steps of Nenagh Courthouse in Banba Square; where it will remain until after the New Year. The ‘turning on of the light’ ceremony will take place on Saturday December 6th at 4pm.

To celebrate this occasion we will have an Ecumenical Service and a light will shine for each request and a special ceremony remembering all of the departed loved ones will take place. The evening will be accompanied by songs from the Silvermines Folk Choir group. The hospice welcomes the public to dedicate a light on the special Tree of Remembrance for deceased loved ones. Booklets have been placed in all of the local churches and surrounding areas of Nenagh for people to write the names of their loved ones to be remembered at the ceremony.
