Tír na nÓg Montessori pre-school was established in 2001 by Kathleen McKenna (B.A.Mont. Ed.) who is registered with the Teaching Council , and is also registered with TUSLA.

Tír na nÓg Montessori is suitable for all children from the age of 3 years and upwards.

A Montessori pre-school is a gentle preparation for young children before starting primary school. This is achieved through child led fun and play. We at Tír na nÓg help children, where possible, to use their words to explain what they want and their hands and feet to develop personal independence.

The Department of Children and Youth Affairs offer 2 FREE ECCE years of pre-schooling for all children – and we at Tír na nÓg deliver these 2 years.

Tír na nÓg is located on the outskirts of Nenagh town, on the Ballintoher/ Lisenhall Road. Being located in a rural setting gives us the advantage of being able to play outdoors as often as possible.

Playing outdoors opens the mind of a child and helps their cognitive development while facilitating their physical development. Exploring the outdoors allows them the opportunity, to question, learn and discover for themselves.

We at Tír na nÓg enjoy gardening , nature walks and exploring the outdoors with the children.
In Tír na nÓg each child's strengths, abilities and needs are recognized and supported.
We hold different events throughout the year which provides much entertainment for the children.
Events include : Parents Open Day
Halloween fancydress party
Christmas concert
Easter Egg Hunt
Teddy bear picnic
Sports day

DETAILS; Pre-school runs for 38 weeks from September to June, Monday to Friday from 9:00am to12:00 noon.
And is the perfect start to your child's education.

Please note In the interest of safety we operate a ‘One Way Traffic System‘ when dropping and collecting your child – with two separate gates one for entry and one for exit. This cuts out the need for reversing of cars in school yard.
