Quigleys Bakery & Confectionery
The Quigley family have been baking bread since 1890. Generation after generation have been committed to their craft and have cared with a passion for what they do.

First Michael, then his son Tim, and his son Martin carried on a tradition through good times and bad. In 1965, there being no male heir, the bakery was taken over by Eileen Quigley, Martin’s daughter.

At a time when women were not to the forefront of business and knowing little or nothing about bakeries, she took up the challenge and quickly made up for her lack of knowledge with a hunger to learn and a passion to succeed. And succeed she did, although at that time, the bakery was a small concern. In fact when her son John took it over in 1985, Quigleys employed just four people: 2 bakers, 1 van-man and a shop-girl.

Today John and his wife Margaret employ upward of 150 people. Their determination to expand and develop led to them opening their first café – serving Quigleys’ breads and cakes naturally!

Now there are fourteen Quigleys Cafés and everything served in those cafes comes direct from Quigleys own kitchens.  Kitchens where only the freshest and best ingredients are used, where they care more about goodness and taste than profit margins.

In all Quigleys Cafes,  service, quality and fair trade are more than just words, they’re the standards everyone at Quigleys live by. That’s why customers tend to return again....and again...and again. Michael Quigley would have been proud.
