Nenagh Credit Union

We look at things differently

Nenagh Credit Union
Adapting to embrace the future, Nenagh Credit Union is built on a proud past. It was founded in 1969 and was previously located at the Legion of Mary hall on Kenyon St and the old potato store on Connolly St. In 1995, Nenagh Credit Union reached the million pound mark in savings, a triumphant moment that saw the local enterprise honoured as Ireland’s best performing credit union in that year. It was also the year that the late Frank Lynch was elected to the Irish League of Credit Unions Board, going on to become treasurer and eventual president of the League. The credit union then relocated to its current home at Kickham St (formerly a grain store and John Ryan’s coal yard), which President Mary Robinson officially opened in 1996.

A new chapter of sorts now begins for Nenagh Credit Union with the completion of the new renovation, the opening of which coincides with the Reputations Agency’s ranking of credit unions among the top 10 most trusted organisations in Ireland and leading financial services provider in the country.

The recent transformation sees the creation of new facilities to make the office more modern. Among the new additions is an interview room for private consultations and an upgrade of IT systems to allow the addition of on line facilities for our members.

And, as has always been the case, the local credit union remains much to the fore of community support and sponsors many local organisations in the community.

Nenagh Credit Union remains a strong, and secure financial institution, which continues to offer members a full range of financial services to include on line facilities, privacy with an interview room, apply online for loans, order currency on line, suite of loan products to name but a few new facilities for our members.. Our main focus is our members and their financial well-being.
